Here is a bit of information about both of us, both in and out of the SCA.
The Honourable Lady Avelyn Wexcombe of Great Bedwyn
(Mundanely known as Melanie Reasbeck)
Melanie grew up in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, Ontario before moving to Skraeling Althing for high school in Renfrew. She moved to Kingston in 1997 to attend St. Lawrence College, where she discovered the SCA through community listings in the phone book (!).
After about two years, Melanie took a hiatus from the SCA after relocating to Ottawa and Halifax for several years while going to University. She later returned to the SCA via Harrowgate Heath in 2007 after completing her degree. Melanie has a Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax and a Business Administration (Marketing) diploma from Algonquin College.
Avelyn is currently the Kingdom Media Relations Officer and has previously held several positions within Greyfells, Harrowgate Heath, and the Barony.

The Honourable Lord Dafydd ap Alan
(Mundanely known as David Gotlieb)
David grew up in western Canada before moving to Toronto in elementary school, where he lived until moving to Ottawa for University. He has a Bachelour of Journalism degree from Carleton University, and has spent the past 16 years working in communications for the federal government.
He was first introduced to the SCA after meeting Melanie through mutual friends in University, but didn't begin actively participating until 2007. He joined the recently formed Canton of Harrowgate Heath after a random search of the internet led them to the group.
Dafydd has held multiple officer positions at both the Canton and Baronial level over the past 11 years since joining the Barony.
You can find more information about Dafydd in the SCA on his Ealdormere Wiki page: Dafydd.
Note about food preferences: One of the things Dafydd wants to discuss with the populous during the selection process is food. Due to dietary restrictions (lactose intolerance and colitis related sensitivities), plus general pickiness, Dafydd is a better cook than he is an eater. He has some ideas about how to approach this so as not to put unreasonable expectations on feast cooks, but would like to explore those options with the Barony.
